Vocalist Hernan “Eddie” Hermida has been dedicating some of his time to the revival of All Shall Perish recently, leading to a period of relative quiet for Suicide Silence. However, the band is set to become active again with their participation in this year’s Milwaukee Metal Fest in May and the commencement of work on their next album following 2023’s “Remember… You Must Die.”

Guitarist Chris Garza confirmed these developments in an interview with Nik Nocturnal. During the discussion, Garza highlighted how his exposure to new bands and diverse music has influenced his songwriting and performance approach. He explained:

“I am in Southern California, so I’m fortunate to attend numerous shows. I’ve been seeing deathcore bands and new metalcore groups. For instance, I wasn’t familiar with Alpha Wolf until they played at a small venue nearby, and I decided to check them out.

Consistently introducing new elements into my mind—whether through music, books, or learning—has a significant impact on my creativity. It keeps me open-minded and fosters a new form of creativity.”

Garza continued, “We began writing our new record two weeks ago, and I feel different while playing. It’s unusual, and I find myself doing things I normally wouldn’t. The combination of the self-titled backlash, financial challenges, inspiration, and the influence of emerging bands is driving a change that I can’t fully pinpoint. Something is definitely happening.”
